i think that ellee and i will maybe probably somehow someday possibly get married. we dont want a big wedding. we want to do what is in the hymnal during a regular service. like a baptism. baptism is much more important, so i dont see why marriage should take higher priority. figuring out how that would work though is pretty hard.
i also do not want to have any part of my hypothetical marriage in a place that has ceilings like this.......

seriously. ceilings like that are worse than walmart.
and i will also not have a tuxedo or a fake bow tie.
i hate weddings like that.
but hey, if you are having one, and you are my friend, i would love to come to it, because i do like weddings anyways. it just seems to me like people like the wedding more than they like getting married.

i posted a new song today. please listen and tell me what you think. this is where it is, www.myspace.com/yousalt
i went to see Enon tonight with Curtis. They were good. We were the only ones left in the bar after they played, and ended up watching a Morrisey dvd with thebartender. Toko from enon was there too. look at pictures. the ones not from a show are from my school (the seminary).

wow. I just picked up about 400 books from one of my pastors who is retiring. Its pretty amazing. there is probably thousands of dollars worth of stuff here. I couldnt really believe that I could just have it. There are at least 15 commentaries on Romans in the whole lot. I also now have three full sets of commentaries, good ones too. These are things that Ive been required to use in the past.
Im a little concerned about how Im going to transport this whole deal to St Louis.
Sometimes things just work out much too well.

there are hundreds of pictures of loveable beedogs on it.

yeah, im still in st louis. im done with my class tommorow, and then i fly home for a few weeks. during those few weeks i will be traveling the midwest with my friend john, who is visiting from australia. if anyone from milwaukee or chicago or minneapolis wants to see a real live foreigner, let me know.
remember how i thought there wouldnt be any girls here. yeah, i was wrong. i pretty much fall in love with every girl i see, so its not too great. i was hoping to take a break from falling in love with girls........... oh well.

rappers delight club - first ladies anthem |

Im at seminary now.... in St Louis. Its pretty cool. Half of my class though is female. Which is bad. I was really hoping to get away from females for a while, as they are probably my biggest distraction. Oh well. A guy got real mad at me last night because I said that snake handling churches were Christian. Hes a douchebag, and I let him know that.
this is the best thing ive heard in a while........ LIsten to IT!! Its kids rapping over Sufjan! http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com/~files/Rappers%20Delight%20Club%20-%20First%20Ladies%20Anthem.mp3
um, this is one of my shelves............

( more pictures of seminary things ) another note, ive been listening to this....... Ive never really noticed how good it is. Harvest gets all the attention, but this is so much better in my opinion. cinnamon girl has always been on the top of my list, but the album has so much more than that. except round and round sucks. if youve not heard this album, i suggest you get it.

[13 Jul 2006|12:10am] |
well, apparently, today was my birthday. i gardened for many hours, cleaned out the boat, went to Gyros Kabob for dinner, and then went rollerskating with two amandas. It was pretty sweet except for getting really sweaty. it was sort of awkward for me sometimes because there were only 4 other people at the rink. im a pretty great skater too. you should see some of my moves.

im going to adrienne and andy's wedding in st louis this weekend, and i am excited. i am also going to my family reunion in effingham illinois, which i am also excited about.

I went to milwaukee this weekend. It was pretty great. I love those kids. Definitely alot of good stuff. Although, i think its fairly obvious to me that i dont know how to talk to people about God. I also dont understand why people who supposedly have no beliefs are so passionate about having these nonbeliefs, as well as why they have a problem with me having beliefs. Its been a slow realization for me that pretty much none of my friends are christians, at least outside of CURF. So that also makes me start thinking about why people most often seem to fall away from their faith. It happened to me, and I know why, but I also somehow regained my faith. I mean, I do know why, its because religion and God arent exactly the most logical things in the world, and they dont really agree with most of human thought. The difference between me and people who rely on reason is the realization that reason is flawed. I dont think that that explanation works for people who rely on logic and reason. I think that its comforting that the Bible is in fact the only really perfect thing that we have. Several people explained to me that they dont think you should let the Bible completely govern your life. I feel much more secure with my faith in God rather than humans.
People also seem to take quite an issue with the Bible because it is dominated by men. I dont really see the issue with this, as the world has largely been dominated by men. Its the natural order of creation. The Bible isnt out to get women. It isnt oppressive towards women anymore than the olympics are. Another issue that people have is that the Bible isnt applicable in todays world. Im not sure how this works. I think that if people actually read the Bible and checked out what it said, then they might be able to discern its actual meaning, rather than what their World Religions teachers tell them about the Bible.
(this is the reason i think most catholics fall by the wayside, that they dont really teach the reading of the Bible.)
As I prepare to enter seminary, and eventually, hopefully, become a pastor, these are just things that I constantly think about. Its pretty discouraging when you realize that most people dont buy into what Im dedicating my life to. Or maybe its ok, because at least then ill never run out of work to do.
in addition to this..... I listened to Beethoven's 8th Symphony today, and it was pretty awesome. I installed some weatherproof speakers outside on the porch, so whenever we eat out there, I put on classical music, and its kind of fun.
we got some sake for a recipe, and no one in my family likes it, so i might try to drink it.
this is my stuff i play with.

i made a MUSIC VIDEO! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=803894228&n=2
check that sheit out. its pretty great. basically the best video ever made of anything ever. so i think that itll shoot to the top of the charts pretty soon.
Its not as good as paris hiltons new video though. crap.
So ive been really pissed off lately basically every time i go to church because my church is real screwy. we had a patriotic church service yesterday, which i tihnk is rather innappropriate, especially on trinity sunday. we had this hideous eagle banner that looked like it belonged on some ultra patriotic t shirt. the woman dce at my church is also participating way too much in the services, which really sets me off. to make it better, my dad thinks that i am the one that has crazy beliefs because i dont think we should have women pastors or flags in churches.
i sure am going to end up failing as a pastor because i tend to stick to what the bible says.
oh yeah. i think gnarls barkley is pretty great. ive seen them perform on three different things in the past 3 days, and theyve had some pretty awesome stuff on. like Chewbacca playing drums at the mtv movie awards. yeaaa. i liked it.
and. i got a Bass/Cello duet today for my sister and i to play because im getting reaaaaaaaally rusty. and i want to play. i played through it, its pretty hard, but i tihnk i can get it.

spiritualized - this little life of mine |
] |
arrr.
i had this awesome byrdsy type song recorded, and then i accidentaly deleted it. i tried making another one, and it doesnt seem like its the same. Thats how i work, i cant recreate the stuff. everything i record is all first takes. i think the energy that comes with my original creativity is what makes it good, if it is...... im really pissed about this one!
ive been listening to alot of spiritualized lately, and yeah, this guy is cool. i like him, because its alot like what i try to do, except he does it a whole lot better. and he has some other people help, but its basically just him, he has french horn alot too. which is something i need. and he sits on a chair when they play live. which i think is funny because i usually want to move.

so tonight was the last lost of the season. i really like this show, but i feel like its going to go down the shitter towards a really weird stupid kind of thing. the dudes in the south pole were kind of eh.... i dont know. i really liked it all, but i feel like theyre going to have something to do with global warming because of that explosion thing at the end. I dont know how Im going to make it 3 months or however long it is til they have the new season.
im also not a huge fan of the flaming lips new album, but Wayne Coyne gave an address at his high school. its pretty awesome.
